Program Overview | Southern Arizona | Yavapai County, Arizona | New Mexico
Day Program for Developmentally Disabled Individuals
The Day Program site is rural, a beautiful property located in Chino Valley. The fifteen (15) Developmentally Disabled participants hail from all over Yavapai County. The program is multi-faceted and incorporates activities that are educational, vocational, and recreational. Residents engage in activities focused on art, music, and the computer and create crafts to sell at their Annual Christmas Bazaar. An adjoining green house provides the opportunity for them to grow their own vegetables. The Day Program participants plant, grow and harvest a variety of vegetables for their own use. Activities in the new Day Program building are augmented with field trips to community-based events and visits to local eateries for lunch.

Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Referrals are made by Arizona Department of Economic Security/Division of Developmental Disabilities, Tribal Social Services agencies, and private pay resources.
The Day Program is based on the same values by which Intermountain operates all of its programs. Each individual’s strengths and needs are assessed upon entering and their program goals are set by their team. Goals are met as staff provide positive reinforcement for each client to develop social, educational, vocational, leisure, and recreational skills while building self-sufficiency and self-esteem. There is a three participant to one staff ratio.
