Intermountain Programs in New Mexico

ICHD New Mexico programsIntermountain was established in Santa Fe in 1973 to provide an alternative to institutionalization for Native American youth who have been identified as socially disabled, in need of supervision, emotionally disturbed or transitioning to independent living through residential support services.

Independent Living Program
The Independent Living Program with the Life Skills curriculum provides transitional support services to Native American youth, age 16-21 years, who are leaving the custody of Child Welfare programs and have lived in Foster Care or group homes. Services delivered by a home-based therapist include access to cultural, educational and vocational resources, assistance in establishing a safe home environment, and many living skills.
