Intermountain
Centers for Human Development provides out of home and home-based
support services to a variety of at-risk populations including children
and youth who are emotionally and behaviorally challenged, adults who
have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, and individuals with
developmental disabilities. Intermountain's programs are framed by core values
which have guided the agency's strength-based approach to intensive,
individualized work with thousands of clients for nearly 40 years.
The mission of Intermountain Centers for Human Development is to provide the highest quality, community-based, individualized services, including clinical, housing and family-based, in the most cost-effective manner to at-risk populations.

Children's Residential Program
Intermountain Centers for Human Development operates group residences for youth in Tucson (therapeutic Level II residences, and a multi-dwelling transitional living unit). The residential program has been developed to meet the needs of children in the behavioral health system that previously have been unsuccessful in home-based settings and are referred through the Child Family Team process. Children's Unplanned Respite Care (ChURP)
Intermountain Centers for Human Development offers a Children’s Unplanned Respite Program (ChURP) in collaboration with Community Partnership of Southern Arizona to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 years who are enrolled in the behavioral health system. The objective of ChURP is to provide a safe and structured environment for young children in need of a brief unplanned respite placement, immediately upon request. Adult Residential Program
Since 1978, Intermountain Centers for Human Development’s Adult Residential Program has employed positive behavioral treatment strategies within its strength-based, culturally sensitive residential programs. After an initial, individualized assessment of strengths and needs, a personalized treatment plan is devised for each client. The Intermountain direct care staff members utilize the Wraparound model to work with individuals over 18 years of age who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness. In-Home Support Services for at-risk children, adults and their families to preserve family integrity located in rural and urban communities of Southern Arizona, and the Tohono O’odham Nation:
In-Home Support Services
In Tucson and neighboring rural Arizona communities, Intermountain staff members provide In-Home Wraparound Services in the context of the Child and Family Team. The staff normally work with children from birth to 21 years who have been identified as at-risk and are Title XIX eligible. In-Home services are often designed to facilitate the reunification of child or adult with his/her biological family following an out-of-home placement or to ease the transition from a restrictive environment back to a community-based living arrangement. The Tohono O’odham Program, which provides Tohono O’odham children throughout the Nation and seriously mentally ill adults with in-home services, began in October 2001. In Cochise and Santa Cruz counties, Intermountain collaborates with other behavioral health providers who refer at-risk children to the Intermountain In-Home Services Program. Transitional and Support Services
Transitional and Support Services are intended to help youth and young adults transition to less restrictive environments while fostering the development of skills related to achieving greater independence. Special interest is placed on helping enrolled adolescents become well-prepared to meet the challenges of independent living and be actively engaged in their community. Transitional and Supports Services include a Placement Preservation Program, an Independent Living Skills Program, a Respite Program, and a Therapeutic Day Program. Read more ...

Residential Programs in Chino Valley
Intermountain offers a continuum of out-ofhome placements for children and adults whose function is so impaired that they cannot live with their biological families. Currently the residential program offers individualized support services in nine group homes and ten developmental homes for adults who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities.
